Purchasing Butterflies
Tallyho Butterflies only sells LIVE butterfly eggs and LIVE butterfly pupae. We do not sell adults or larvae due to many factors in transit that make it very risky for the butterflies. We also do NOT ship specifically Monarch Butterflies outside of the United States, over the West Continental Divide*, or to New York, due to shipping regulations and laws. If you want to purchase a butterfly that is not native to your state, you need to send us a PPQ526 permit that allows you to receive the butterflies, and that will let us ship the butterflies to you.

Ordering Schedule
Every Friday at 4PM EST, our shop pages are updated with a real-time stock of all eggs and pupae that we have. If there is nothing shown, then that means we do not have anything in stock. There are 4 different shipping options that you can choose at checkout, ranging from a next-morning arrival, or a 2-4 day wait. Butterfly eggs have to be shipped in the time frame of a next-morning arrival, or 1-2 days. Unlike pupa, it takes eggs much less time to hatch, and there is a great risk of loss if the eggs hatch in transit. You should NOT order butterflies in your area if the temperature is below 60F, or above 90F. Butterflies, especially eggs, are very sensitive to temperature changes, and if it's too cold, the eggs can die, and if it's too hot, the eggs can overheat and die.
Shipping Butterflies
We ship out packages from Monday-Wednesday at 5pm EST. If you place an order before 3:30pm EST, your order will be shipped out the next day. If you place an order after 3:30pm EST on a Wednesday, we will have to send it Next Day Air, or we will send it next Monday. We will always send a PPQ526 permit that allows us to ship the species of butterfly you ordered. If we are not able to ship out your order or we are not able to provide your full order's contents, we will send you an email letting you know, and you can either make a full refund, or a partial refund (only for the things we couldn't fulfil). If your butterflies arrive dead or damaged and you want a refund, we have a 24-hour window for refunds that needs to be backed up with photo and/or video evidence. We will give you a full refund for your order, and send a new set of butterflies if wanted.
*FOR STATES THAT RUN THROUGH THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE, WE ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO SHIP MONARCHS TO THE PARTS OF THE STATE THAT ARE TO THE EAST OF THE DIVIDE. STATES THAT FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY ARE MONTANA, WYOMING, COLORADO, AND NEW MEXICO. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHIP MONARCHS TO THESE STATES AT ALL: IDAHO, OREGON, ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, NEVADA, AND WASHINGTON.*
