Butterfly eggs usually hatch within a week of purchasing, but it can depend on the species and the weather conditions. Butterfly eggs should NOT be ordered if the temperature is below 40°F during the night, or above 80°F during the day.
Caterpillars will eat a LOT once they emerge. They feed on Milkweed. You can buy Milkweed at a local plant store or online, but make sure they are not sprayed with any pesticides.
