Shipping

Introduction
This page is dedicated to all about our shipping times/prices, including how much it is for us to ship butterflies.

Earliest Shipping Date

The earliest shipping date for our company is sometime in the first week of April. The first states we can ship to are southern states such as Florida and Georgia, and we can ship caterpillars to other states after your last frost date unless you specifically state that you have an area that is above 65 degrees during the day and above 45 degrees during the night, such as a greenhouse.

Latest Shipping Date

The latest shipping date for our company is 1 week before the first frost in our area. This usually puts our last shipping date in the last week(s) of October. Usually after the last week of September we only ship to Southeastern states such as the Carolinas or Florida, but we stop shipping to all states (usually) in the end of October.

Shipping Prices

When we ship butterflies, we can spend either $5-$50 for shipping, depending on the day of the week and how far away you (the customer) are away from PA. Usually we spend around $10-$20 when shipping to states farther away from us, and $5-$10 for states near us.

Shipping Time Length

For Butterfly Eggs, we like to send them UPS NDA (Next Day Air) or 2DA (2nd Day Air). NDA costs $60 and will be there the next morning. 2DA costs $40 and will be there in around 1-2 days. Caterpillars and Caterpillar Kits can only be sent with NDA unless you live in Pennsylvania. Chrysalids are usually sent with 2DA or UPS Ground. UPS Ground costs $15 and will be there in 1-3 days depending on where you are.

If you are not in Pennsylvania, then you have to choose NDA or 2DA for your package to arrive in 1-2 days. If you choose UPS Ground, there is a good chance the caterpillars will be in the mail for up to 4 days.
